Gift Certificates are a great way to send a gift as an online voucher that can be redeemed during checkout. This article will explain the different elements involved and how to use them.
How Customers Purchase Gift Certificates
- Depending on where you placed the Gift Certificate link on your website, they will be taken to “www.yourwebsitename.com/account/voucher“.
- They will fill out and select all the required fields

- They will click the Continue Shopping to add the Gift Certificate to their cart.
- The customer can either finish checking out with only the Gift Certificate, or continue adding parts to their cart.
- After the purchase has been made, the store owner will receive an email that explains how to send the Gift Certificate to the customer.

How to Send a Gift Certificate to a Customer (required)
- On your dashboard, click Orders
- Click Gift Certificates
- Select the checkbox beside the Gift Certificate you want to send
- Click the Send button (envelope icon) on the top-right of the page
- The recipient will receive a congratulations email with the Gift Certificate redemption code
- [IMPORTANT] Before the recipient can use the redemption code, you must change the order status to “Complete”

How to Redeem a Gift Certificate
After the recipient receives the congratulations email with the redemption code, they can use that code on your checkout page in the “Coupon or Gift Certificate Code” field.
